The Scrapbook - Early Community Centre Years 1964 - 1990

TADS staged plays at the Town Hall for many years but moved to the Victory Hall when it was built after WW II.
The wooden Victory Hall was replaced by the present (but as yet unextended) Community Centre in 1963.
Consequently, no plays were staged between November 1962 and September 1964.

Acknowledgements

Much of the following material was scanned from the Society's scrapbook which has been kept by Linda Bennett and further scripts
and programmes were loaned to Peter Willis by Margaret Dean (nee Hughes) who appeared in many productions during the 1950s.

"The Chiltern Hundreds" was staged in April 1978 in the Community Centre and tickets cost 50p.
One member of that cast is still acting today (2019) although (according to the Chronicle) he was then known as George.
